President's Message December 2019

New Year’s Eve is my favorite holiday. I know, I know…you wouldn’t be the first person to be wary of that, or to be curious as to why. It isn’t the parties or staying up to ring in the new year (although I do enjoy Auld Lang Syne), I appreciate that this holiday comes with a collective moment of reflection on the year that’s passed and a purposeful look to what’s ahead, often through the lens of goals as we strive to be our best selves. That kind of energy and intentionality is why I favor New Year’s.

I mention this in the context of ACSN to reflect on 2019 and think about 2020. It’s been a big year for us. We finished our first full year in our three-year strategic plan and – by many measures – are ahead of where we hoped we might be by now. We also hosted a successful conference in DC, will have offered more than 10 webinars/demos, and have grown our corporate partners.

Looking ahead, I’ll defer to you. What are your goals of engagement with ACSN? Are you taking advantage of all our resources? Could you have a bigger impact on the association or our field?

As you reflect and think about next year, your leadership is standing by. If your goals include an increased level of involvement with ACSN, we want to hear from you. In fact, you’ll hear more soon about a new task force dedicated to the engagement of ACSN members.

The happiest of holiday seasons to you, and here’s to auld lang syne (fun fact: this translates to old long since, and is interpreted as days gone by).

Johnathan Luster, ACSN President
