President's Message June 2020

As ACSN’s President, I want to reiterate our organizational message of hope and out continued intent to act. We hope for equality and will do our part in creating a future where there is no systemic racism. We want to make very clear we stand in solidarity with our Black communities, members, colleagues and alumni. We know that there is much work to be done; we must educate ourselves, hold space for conversations, and take action. ACSN started this work in February with our ACSN Book Club reading of Biased by Jennifer L. Eberhardt, PhD; however, this is only the beginning. As we strive to learn more and do more, I have asked board members and leaders to explore arenas for learning, continuous discussion, and awareness within our alumni career community. It is with hope and action coupled with an embrace of kindheartedness that ACSN will continue in our journey of supporting racial equity, inclusion, and cultural competency.
