President's Message June 2022

With the conference in San Diego fast approaching, I can barely contain my excitement! My mind is filled with wonderful memories from past conferences, so to help you get excited about our upcoming time together, let me share some of my favorite memories from past conferences via a Top 5 list:

Number 5: Running with Michael Steelman, William and Mary, and other new ACSN friends along a river in Denver during my very first ACSN conference.

Number 4: Learning the Texas two-step and line dancing with Terrence Hood, Texas Christian University, with a room full of ACSN attendees during our evening social in Fort Worth.

Number 3: Hanging out with Caroline Francis, University of Kentucky, and other ACSN colleagues/friends as we hopped from honky-tonk to honky-tonk during the after-hours outing in Nashville.

Number 2: Learning from inspiring colleagues who are so willing to share their experience and advice via conference sessions. Shout-out to Jeff Murphy, Boston University, who shared his experience creating a Career Week program during the Boston conference.

...and Number One favorite memory from a past ACSN conference: Meeting Marilyn Rice, Ohio State University, when we sat next to one another at a conference session in Washington, DC. She was chair of the Programming Committee, and she invited me to be on her committee. This started my volunteer journey with ACSN, and the rest is history!

See you in San Diego!
