President's Message March 2021

As we near spring, I have a sense of renewal and hope. Just as you strive for fresh, creative ways to serve alumni, our team at Ohio State is trying new ways to serve our alumni to meet the demands of the ever-changing labor market. We are starting a new job club, thanks to our ACSN colleagues at University of Kentucky. We are shifting our coaching model thanks to our ACSN colleagues at University of Denver and Penn State. We quickly pivoted to open Q&A sessions thanks to our colleague at Carnegie Mellon. We are implementing a #Adulting for new grads thanks to our colleague at University of Oregon. You get the picture. Some call it copying. We call it sharing proven best practices! ACSN is the only professional association that specializes in alumni career services. I invite you to invest in your professional development by participating in our upcoming webinars, networking events, and virtual conference in 2021. Our programming and conference committees are hard at work providing relevant and valuable sessions that will improve your skills and broaden your network. We’ll dig deeper into discussions on how to help our alumni gain employment during a COVID economy, how to utilize virtual tools to provide programming such as job fairs, and how to infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion into our own institutional mission. We are dedicated to providing support and opportunities to grow. Here’s to fresh ideas and new ways of thinking!

All the best,

Marilyn Bury Rice
