President's Message September 2020

I am excited to write to you for the first time as president and honored to have the opportunity to serve in this role. I have been a member since 2012 and have always valued the support and friendship that ACSN colleagues willingly share.

In this challenging time, we would like you to know that you can turn to ACSN colleagues for support and information to enhance your work with alumni and your university communities. We plan to continue conversations around inclusivity that will broaden our knowledge as individuals and as an organization.

As a part of the strategic plan, the membership committee recently led the board through an evaluation of the board structure. Minor recommendations were made and approved. Due to the board structure revision, elections were delayed a bit. A transitional month has been added for the current board, and the new board will begin on October 1.

I invite you to consider volunteering for one of the ACSN committees. Each committee plays a valuable part in this organization. I know that I speak for many members who would say that they gained new skills and found a deeper commitment to ACSN through volunteerism. Besides, it is a great way to get to know more of your colleagues!

Please take good care of yourself. Good luck with the new academic year!
