President's Message September 2022

Hello friends and colleagues!

I am so grateful and excited to kick off a new year as your president. This organization has been instrumental in my development as an alumni career professional over the last six years, and I feel honored to be able to lead the way into this year.

Those of you who were able to attend our fabulous conference in San Diego this July (insert big shout out to Cheryl Bonner and Team Pivot for an amazing experience here!) heard from the board of directors about the operational planning process that has been underway over the last several months, as well as some of our goals for the coming year.  For those of you who weren’t there (or who need a refresher), our areas of focus over the next three years are: audiences and membership, research and thought leadership, and infrastructure.   

Specifically over the next year, I plan to focus my energies and attention on supporting the following:

• Growing our membership, with an emphasis on connecting with previously untapped populations and re-engaging previously engaged member institutions
• Solidifying our industry presence by showing how our resources and benefits are valuable to our members and our corporate partners
• Creating a culture of belonging by intentionally infusing diversity and inclusion efforts into all that we do

I cannot say enough how much I am looking forward to a wonderful year with you all. Between our new board members and the capable hands of our management team, Riggs Enterprise Corp, I am already enthusiastic about what we will accomplish this year together.
