President's Message

January 2023

Happy New Year from ACSN!

I hope that you have all had a restful and wonderful holiday season, and that your new year is off to a great start.

This is the time of year where most of us are looking at creating resolutions, setting goals, and doing a mindset reset. While all of that  is great (and I encourage you to set some new intentions for the year), I also want to remind you that it’s okay if you’re not feeling up to it just yet.

The last few years have been a whirlwind of uncertainty for us all – the fact that we’ve survived is a testament to our collective strength and something that should be celebrated. So, before we get too caught up in the hustle and bustle of the new year, I encourage you to take a moment to breathe, reflect, and recognize all that you have overcome. So often during this time of year I hear people say
(non-ironically), “new year, new me” – and that’s great if that’s what you’re going for. However, I’d like to remind you that “new year, same you” is pretty awesome, too. It’s okay if you’re not ready to take
on the world today – simply being consistent and intentional with your time and energy are wonderful ways to contribute to your personal and professional communities.

We’ve got some really exciting things happening this month with ACSN that we would love to have you take part in – including our first ever ACSN Think Tank experience on January 20th. This fun and
interactive event will involve each of us using our collective expertise to pave the way for current and future thought leadership in our field. Not only will you have the opportunity to network with colleagues from other universities and share what you know with the group, you’ll also receive a writing credit for the white paper that will be published after the event!

I’m your host for this new event, so consider this your personal invitation to join us for a ton of fun and learning. Click here for more information and register today!
