Committee Member Recruitment

ACSN needs your help! Will you be one of the people to raise your hand and join one of our committees?

Becoming a committee member is a great opportunity to lead, grow professionally and work directly with the ACSN board. Each committee has a need for at least a few volunteers. Committee volunteers can expect to devote around 2-4 hours on average each month to their ACSN work, meeting with their committee and collaborating with other ACSN committees and members. This is a chance to continue to sharpen skills you already have or grow in a new area you wish to explore.

Read the descriptions below to understand what each committee does and what their volunteer needs are. To indicate your interest: CLICK HERE to fill out our volunteer form. If you have questions, contact Paul Pausky, Chair of Membership.

Programming - The committee that creates the regular awesome programs all ACSN members enjoy!

  • Events Volunteer: You will help come up with and run professional development webinars and virtual networking programs that feature fellow members throughout the year. You might also assist with running the annual mentorship program. It's a great opportunity to share the virtual event tips and tricks that you've learned throughout the pandemic while highlighting and supporting your fellow members. Time commitment would include attending regular meetings and hosting 1 event/semester.

Partners - The committee that builds relationships with partner organizations like corporations, ensuring ACSN members have access to the latest and greatest technology and tools!

  • The Partners Committee works directly with partners to plan demos of their products and present substantive webinars and/or white papers for the ACSN community. The committee meets once a month to assess the renewals and recruitment of new partners, plan and host upcoming partner ACSN events, and work with the conference committee to secure conference sponsorship from ACSN partners.

  • Shared Duties: Interest in and experience with research and benchmarking programs, strategies, and goals related to alumni career services; strong writing skills are a plus!

  • Social Media Volunteer (1): Use Tweetdeck to update Twitter handle for upcoming events, programs, and other engagements; manage follows/followers. Most content is provided, but some light editing may be needed. Liaise with one other ACSN committee.

  • Web and Email Volunteer (2): Work with ACSN committees and association management company to schedule, proofread/edit and coordinate stand-alone emails (including the creation of registration forms and addition of events/programs to the ACSN website); original content provided.
