A discussion on the challenges that career services faces when working with veteran alumni as opposed to non-veteran alumni. During this webinar we’ll discuss some of the strategies on how to provide effective alumni careers support and resources to veterans.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of:

  • The unique challenges that careers offices face in order to effectively support the career needs of their veteran alumni
  • How they differ from non-veteran alumni
  • The military culture and language of their veteran alumni

Presented by Miguel Gutierrez, Director, Career Services, West Point Association of Graduates and
Matt Brogdon, Senior Engagement Manager, Microsoft Military Affairs team

Miguel Gutierrez has over 35 years of experience in recruiting, career counseling, military transition support, talent management, talent acquisition programs and project management. Prior to joining the West Point Association of Graduates, Miguel was the DynCorp International Global Army Aviation Recruiting Manager. Miguel also served as the Corporate Military Relations Manager at Lockheed Martin for 8 years, and he has worked with Fortune 500 companies such as American Airlines, Wal-Mart Information Systems Division and Northrop Grumman. Miguel branched Field Artillery upon graduation from West Point and left the military upon completion of his military obligation.

Matt Brogdon is a Senior Engagement Manager with the Microsoft Military Affairs team, focused on supporting transitioning military service members and veterans transitioning to civilian IT careers through the Microsoft Software and Systems Academy. Matt is also the founder of the Pathfinder Group, a consulting and coaching firm helping corporate America design programs to attract, recruit, and retain the next generation of leadership talent from the transitioning and veteran military community. He is an Air Force Academy graduate and a former Army officer.
